就在 12 月的社群日舉行的時候，Pokémon GO 以多條 Tweet 宣佈訓練員對戰（Trainer Battle）功能即將推出。
Pokémon GO 的訓練員對戰將分開三個聯盟，包括 Great League、Ultra League 和 Master League，三個聯盟以 CP 上限分類，Great League、Ultra League CP 上限分別是 1500、2500，Master League 就無限制 CP。
