隨著 PS5 主機快要開放預訂，遊戲公司網頁開始在支援網頁更新 PS5 的資料，其中 Ubisoft 官網在一篇「TRANSITIONING PLAYSTATION 4 TITLES TO NEXT-GEN VERSIONS」的問答之中出現過這一句：
「Backwards compatibility will be available for supported PlayStation 4 titles, but will not be possible for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, or PlayStation games.」

但是，未知是什麼原因上述這一句被移除了，由於這不是 SONY 的官方宣佈，因此 PS5 向下兼容能力仍然需要 SONY 親自宣佈。而在同一網頁，Ubisoft 指 PlayStation 提供一系列功能設計協助你從 PS4 升級到 PS5，PS4 玩家可以參與 PS5 的多人遊玩。
