連鎖快餐店肯德基悄悄成立「KFC Gaming」部門，他們在 9 月 28 日以 Twitter 影片宣佈「Player One has enter the game」「something BIG is coming」，影片可見 KFC 創辨人山德士上校在不同遊戲擊倒敵人（包括麥當奴）取得榮耀。

「KFC Gaming」在 Twitter 不斷更新「載入百份比」，顯示他們的準備狀況，截稿前的狀態是「接近完成」。

肯德基一直有興致加入電競行業，在 9 月初宣佈與中國皇族電子競技俱樂部 RNG 戰隊合作，未知「KFC Gaming」部門是否與 RNG 有關。另外，早前炸雞快餐店肯德基（KFC）在香港舉辦 PUBG 電競大賽，以「食雞」為賣點成為網民熱話。
