Apple Watch Series 5 採用 64bit 雙核心 S5 處理器，配搭 W3 Apple 無線晶片，但是蘋果在早前 iPhone 發佈會 Keynote 之中，並沒有提及 S5 處理器的效能提升，很奇怪。

開發者 Steve Troughton-Smith 最近透過最新版本的 Xcode 找到 iPhone、Apple Watch、iPad 等等的規格，它發現了 Apple Watch Series 5 的 S5 集成處理器，與 Apple Watch Series 4 的集成處理器設計一致，只是陀螺儀和 32GB NAND 有所不同。

According to Xcode, Apple Watch Series 5 has the same generation CPU/GPU as the Apple Watch Series 4; I guess the only changes are a gyro and 32GB of NAND? The plus side of that is that we won’t have to worry about watchOS being slower on the Series 4 than on a brand new model

儘管蘋果在發佈會沒有強調 Series 5 的效能，但蘋果官網曾提及過 Series 5 的 S5 處理器比 S3 處理器快 2 倍，但經過 Xcode 的確認之下，原來 Apple Watch Series 5 效能比 Series 4 並沒有太大的提升，只有 Always-on 和指南針兩項新功能。目前 Apple Watch Series 4 已停售，但在坊間仍然有不少貨尾割價出售，如果希望更便宜享受到 Series 5 的效能的話，選購 Series 4 也是明智之舉。
