微軟正式宣佈，將會斥資 197 億美元收購語音辨識巨頭Communications。透過此舉，微軟希望利用 Nuance的技術來加強自己的雲端、AI 和醫療業務，其中以醫療為重，實際上雙方此前已經在這方面有過一些深入的合作了。

微軟CEO認為AI是當下科技最重要的發展方向，而醫療是其最首要的應用領域，Nuance 能提供實現醫療技術所需的 AI 層級，而且也是企業級 AI 實際應用的先驅。
Nuance
Nuance在語音控制方案上亦有建樹，為 Siri 開發過語音識別引擎，這些經驗日後也將能為微軟所用。在加入到微軟麾下後，Nuance的 CEO Mark Benjamin 仍會擔任原職位，同時也會成為微軟雲端部門的一員。Nuance 旗下消費向的業務接下來會有什麼變化目前還不得而知，估計其中大部分也會歸屬到微軟的眾多服務之中。
