於現時武漢肺炎疫情下，很多公司的工作進度都受到影響。繼早前 Google 表示暫停推出 Chrome 版本更新後，微軟亦公布類似措施，暫停推出正式版 Edge 的版本更新。

日前，微軟表示基於目前情況，Edge 的開發團隊將暫停為正式版 Edge 提供版本上的更新，只維持提供必要的安全性更新。換言之，短期內微軟都不會推出版本 81 的 Edge。而他們將於下週公布進一步的消息。

他們的做法，與 Google 的相近。不難想像的是，這是與疫情影響原有的工作進度有關，所以他們暫時未能估算何時才可恢復原有更新進度。至於日後更新時間表會有多大改變，現時仍是未知之數。
