台灣英文網站 DigiTimes 在一篇「英業達不太會拿到下一代 AirPods 的主要部件訂單」的文章之中，提及蘋果下一代 AirPods 會在 2021 年上半年推出：

分析師和供應鏈消息一直預測第三代 AirPods 推出日期，神準蘋果分析師郭明錤同樣指第 3 代 AirPods 會在 2021 年上半年推出，他亦指第三代 AirPods 的設計就像 AirPods Pro 般，但可能缺少一些功能，例如主動消噪，其 AirPods Pro 般的設計亦曾經與「AirPods Pro Lite」設計混淆起來。至於 AirPods Pro 耳機，傳聞指甚至要去到 2021 年下半年才推出。
