減輕網絡基建設施的壓力 全球 YouTube 預設影片質素降至 480p

因為現時多個國家的武漢肺炎疫情嚴重，很多人都留在家中，其中一件會做的事就是在 YouTube 觀看不同影片。與往日相比，很多人都會在一天內花更多時間觀看 YouTube 影片，對網絡流量構成壓力。為此，YouTube 決定推行新措施，限制預設影片質素，減輕網絡基建設施的壓力。

早前，YouTube 已公布於歐洲實施限制預設影片質素的措施，降格至 480p。而他們決定將此措施擴展至全球。不論是載入甚麼短片，預設影片質素為 480p。如用家有需要，才自行提升影片質素。

上述措施，將維持最少三十日，YouTube 將視乎一個月的網絡情況，決定是否需要延長實施期。除了觀看 YouTube 影片，很多國家都需要利用網絡傳播重要的防疫資訊，以至用於救援工作，故此今次 YouTube 措施將有助減輕網絡流量負擔，騰出更多空間予其他執行重要職務的人。
