上星期微軟推出 Windows 10 2018 年 10 月更新（ver 1809），但因有人更新後遺失檔案，故微軟決定煞停有關更新。
Windows 主管 John Cable 在 Windows 部落格表示，他們已經全面檢查所有檔案遺失的報告、確定和解決所有 2018 年 10 月更新的問題，微軟的支援部門也提供免費支援給受影響的顧客，並指煞停更新制止了遺失檔案和照片的問題擴散。因此微軟宣佈會在 Windows Insider community 重新推出 Windows 2018 年 10 月更新，並觀察反應，再決定是否在更廣範圍推出。

微軟亦解釋為何 Windows 10 2018 年 10 月更新會有遺失檔案問題的原因，原因是來自 Known Folder Redirection 出現漏洞，令檔案重新導向路徑的時候出現問題，最終導致檔案遺失。
