達到里程碑 WhatsApp 公布用戶人數上升至20億

WhatsApp 是我們平日最常用的即時通訊應用程式之一，在全球各地也廣受歡迎。最近，擁有 WhatsApp 的 Facebook 公布，全球用戶人數已有二十億，達到新的里程碑。

於 2016 年，WhatsApp 的用戶數量才剛剛達到十億，而在前年則增長至十五億。兩年之間，則再增長多五億，達到二十億的新紀錄。不過，數字上仍不及 Facebook 的二十五億個。與其他即時通訊程式一樣，WhatsApp 支援對話加密功能，令他們的用戶仍願意使用，未有完全改用其他程式，相信這是令 WhatsApp 用戶人數仍可保持增長的原因之一。WhatsApp 行政總裁 Will Cathcart 表示，他們重視對話加密功能，無意於日後撤銷政策。不過，他亦提到如 WhatsApp 所存的大數據有助執法部門調查之用，為此他們亦會合作。

如繼續保持這增長速度而並未有其他更有力的競爭者取代 WhatsApp 的地位，相信兩、三年後 WhatsApp 的用戶人數可望達到二十五億至三十億，與 Facebook 主程式可一較高下。
