方便有代價 WhatsApp 於 Google Drive 備份檔不會獲得點對點加密處理

早前提到，由本年十一月十二日起，用家於 Google Drive 上儲存的 WhatsApp 備份檔，將不計算入用家本身的 Google Drive 空間用量當中，令用家可預留更多空間，存放其他文件；檔案。不過，方便的背後，其實是需要付出代價的。

雖然儲放於 Google Drive 的備份檔將不再計算入用量限額，但 WhatsApp 已經確認這些備份檔將不支援由 WhatsApp 提供的點對點加密服務。縱使 Google 本身會在伺服器一方進行加密處理，但始終有資料外洩的風險。

對於一般用家而言，這不會帶來太大影響，始終 Google 都會提供加密處理，未算毫無安全保障。至於 iOS 版 WhatsApp 用家，由於 iOS 版 WhatsApp 不能於 Google Drive 儲放備份檔，所以不受今次變動影響。
