擺脫 80 年經漆招牌！東芝記憶體宣佈改名「鎧俠」！

2017 年東芝因為避免破產，被迫將快閃儲存記憶體業務以 180 億美元賣給貝恩資本牽頭的美日韓聯盟，組成東芝記憶體控股株式會社（Toshiba Memory Corporation），如今，這家名為「東芝」的公司要改名了。

東芝記憶體控股株式會社宣佈會在 10 月開始改名為 Kioxia (鎧俠)，旗下子公司也會在 2020 年春天之前陸續會採用 Kioxia 這個名字。大家可能以為 Kioxia 名字很「中國化」，但其實是日文 Kioku（記憶）和希臘文 axia（價值）的混合體，今次改名一事並不包括任何營運策略的改動。

原本是公司改名的小事情卻受廣泛注意，是因為東芝記憶體控股株式會社是 NAND 快閃記憶體第二大生產商以及 SSD 硬碟的主要生產商，改名為 Kioxia 一事將令「東芝」（作為一個名字）從 NAND 和 SSD 市場徹底消失。另外東芝記憶體控股株式會社正推動 IPO 上市計劃，但日期可能改到 11 月，市場認為東芝記憶體希望透過改名令市場重新看待東芝的快閃儲存記憶體業務。
