今時今日，其中一種最流行的手機設計是極窄的邊框，務求以更小的體積，裝進更大的熒幕。不過，這就會影響到前置的自拍鏡頭該放在何方的問題。所以，各大品牌開始採用瀏海的設計。而有消息指，三星有意更進一步，正研發將自拍鏡頭藏在熒幕後方。

來自德國的 Twitter 頻道 SamsungMobile News 指出，三星正研究將前置鏡頭，藏在熒幕後方。理論上，手機的正面無需再為自拍鏡頭預留空間，而用家只需看著熒幕，就可同時完成自拍，更不用擔心用家自拍時眼睛左望右望的問題。
不過，現時該技術仍處於初步研發階段，最快都要等到2020年才有望推出市場。既然現在都已經發展至屏內指紋辨識功能，無需為實體指紋認證器預留空間，那麼將自拍鏡頭藏於手機熒幕後方，聽起來也是一件可能發生的事了。
