《Pokémon GO》踏入 4 周年，神祕的黑色的熱氣球突然在空中出現，原來這些熱氣球是 GO 火箭隊襲擊訓練員的新途徑。

GO 火箭隊的熱氣球會在地圖上空游戈，但熱氣球逗留時間有限，可能會逃脫，你只需點擊在地圖上的 GO 火箭隊熱氣球，選擇對戰小隊，然後打敗出現的 GO 火箭隊，最後解放暗影寶可夢。如果想遇到希爾拉、克里夫和亞洛，就要裝備火箭隊雷達。據說阪木老大偶爾會乘著 GO 火箭隊熱氣球出現，你需要啟動超級火箭隊雷達才找到他。

GO 火箭隊的熱氣球曾在 Pokémon GO 4 周年官方宣傳圖片出現，另外早前維羅博士和隊長們收到的那張奇妙的紙片也顯示熱氣球的存在。官方更悲觀地指原定 Go Fest 對戰大挑戰是否能夠按景原訂計劃進行，並要求大量的訓練家幫忙擊退牠們。
