SONY 官方公佈的 PlayStation 5 主機外形一改過去黑白淨機設計、以流線形兩邊白夾中間黑外殼設計，垂直擺放像獎座一樣，以 V 字形（不是這樣）向上打開，機身上方散熱位有藍色 LED 燈，流露 PlayStation 官方藍色的靈魂。PS5 主機除了有光碟版型號，以及沒有藍光光碟機的 Digital Edition，機身前方有 USB 接口和 USB-C 接口。

除了 PS5 機身之外，SONY 同時公開了 DualSense 遊戲控制器和充電站、PULSE 3 無線耳機、HD 鏡頭以及媒體控制器，但 PS5 主機和所有配件的價格和實際發售日期仍然未公開。

PlayStation 5 27 款首發遊戲有 GT7、BIOZARD、蜘蛛俠！
PlayStation 5 真身發佈的同時，27 款首發遊戲亦公開，當中也有很多大作，包括《Gran Turismo 7》、《Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales》、《Demon’s Souls》、《NBA 2K21》、《Resident Evil VILLAGE》等等。
