紐約警察放棄使用Windows Phone，年底將換上iPhone新機！

 

外國傳媒報導，紐約市警察局（NYPD）將計畫在今年年底，將全面以iPhone取代目前整個警察隊伍所使用的Windows 手機。至於iPhone的型號，有報導將會是今年9月的iPhone 8新機，至於會否因價格超出預算，或採用有耳機接口的舊款iPhone 6就不得而知。

查看之前記錄，NYPD在2014年10月，當時的紐約市長Bill de Blasio就宣佈給每位警察配備手機，以及每輛巡邏車皆有平板電腦。這些裝置都為運行Windows 8.1的諾基亞Lumia 830和Lumia 640 XL。雖然當年根據IDC的數據顯示，iOS與Android系統早已佔據99%的市場份額，但NYPD仍然選擇Windows手機是因為價格也比iPhone便宜，以及下曼哈頓區安全倡議指揮中心已經在使用微軟的軟件運行影片監控程式。


不過到了今時今日，由於微軟已經結束對這Windows 8.1系統的支援。故在Android與iOS之間的選擇，換上新iPhone可能是基於安全理由的考慮。當然，對於以上的報導，紐約市警察局的一名發言人表示，要等到訊息技術專員Jessica Tisch休假回來才能為此些事作出回應！
