在需要閉門作賽的情況之下，為了營造氣氛，比賽主辦方想盡辦法，其中 NBA 竟然想用罐頭聲音。體育記者 Shams Charania 爆料指已確定會閉門作賽的 NBA 竟然想用《NBA 2K》遊戲的打氣聲音。

此消息廣傳之後，網民先譁然後嘲笑，直指用遊戲的聲音取代真實「簡直是垃圾」，破壞觀賽體驗。洛杉磯快艇球員 Montrezl Harrell 亦 Retweet 了上述推文表達不滿。

不止 NBA，英超比賽直播也可能有罐頭打氣聲音，轉播比賽的 Sky Sports 正計劃與 EA Sports 合作，在英超復賽之後的直播之中引入《FIFA》遊戲的打氣聲音。
