微軟的多平台戰略已延伸到防毒軟件了，繼在 macOS 推出 Defender 之後，微軟公在 iOS/Android 推出 Defender。

微軟發部落格的一篇「以提供安全 AI 作為承諾去幫助用戶保護今時今日的混合環境」文章曾提及 Microsoft Defender 繼登陸 macOS 之後已登陸 Linux，並計劃在 iOS/Android 平台推出。微軟企業副總裁 Rob Lefferts 在 CNBC 的訪問之中提到即使手機的惡意軟件不像 PC 般成為威脅，但仍然在 Apple 和 Google 的平台發生，他形容 iOS/Android 「很安全」，但「很安全」不代表安全。[the_ad_placement id=”ad2″]

Defender，即以前的 Windows Defender，不像傳統的防毒軟件，而是用作防止用戶進行微軟認定不安全的網絡目的地，例如 Google Play 以外第三方應用程式，比一般防毒軟件更重視預防工作。
