MacBook Air 2018 發佈後，很快已經有相關處理器跑分出現了。MacBook Air 2018 採用全新 Intel Core i5 處理器……詳細來說，也許是一枚未發佈的極省電 Intel Y-Series 處理器 Core i5-8210Y。對比用第 5 代 Intel 處理器的 2017 年 MacBook Air，用 Y Series 的 Intel 處理器還是有所進步。
在 Geekbench 4.3 資料庫之中出現了一項「MacBookAir 8,1」的數據，可以看到單核跑分是 4248，多核跑分是 7828，分數比起上一代 MacBook 使用的第 5 代 i5-5350U 的 3335（單核）和 6119（多核）有所上升，亦比 MacBook 2017 的 3925（單核）和 7567（多核）高。

對比 MacBook Pro，MacBook Air 2018 的 GeekBench 跑分也不太輸蝕，我所指的是單核跑分。MacBook Pro 2018 在 Geekbench 4.3 的單核跑分是 4504 分，略高於 MacBook Air 2018，但多核跑分就有 16464，完全壓制 MacBook Air 2018。
