除了流動版外，Instagram 亦設有網頁版。用家可透過桌面版瀏覽器，登入並使用 Instagram。不過與網頁版 WhatsApp 一樣，網頁版 Instagram 比流動版於功能上有所缺少，包括即時通訊（DM）功能。幸好，Facebook 已開始為網頁版 Instagram 測試 DM。

Instagram 開發團隊負責人 Adam Mosseri 於 Twitter 表示，他們現已開始於網頁版 Instagram 測試 DM。不過，只有少量用家獲邀試用，以確保 DM 運作正常。至於何時才會正式推展至所有 Instagram 用家，Adam Mosseri 未有明示，只說期望盡快推出。

DM 運行已久，並不是甚麼新功能。Instagram 終於準備為網頁版 Instagram 加入 DM，遲到總比沒到好，才能追上市場上其他有力的競爭者，包括同門的 Messenger、WhatsApp。
