 Instagram一直以來都使以行動版本為主，如果想要發表新的動態、貼文都必須從手機上的應用程式來進行，國外媒體便發現 Instagram 開始進行測試網頁版本的更新，接下來的使用將擁有更多元的方式。

有開發者從 Instagram 的程式碼中發現到 Instagram 正在著手研究從電腦瀏覽器直接上傳照片與影片的功能。

根據國外媒體 MacRumors 的報導，一位名為 Alessandro Paluzzi 的開發者從 Instagram 的程式碼中發現到 Instagram 正在著手研究從電腦瀏覽器直接上傳照片與影片的功能。根據他在 Twitter 上分享的照片中可以看到，瀏覽器網頁版的 Instagram 很快就可以直接從電腦本基中直接以拖曳的方式將照片、影片放到 Instagram 上，並且可以進行裁切、濾鏡並且撰寫附帶的說明文字等以發表到其平台上。

不再局限於手機發帖文

這項功能對於一些喜歡以運動相機、專業攝影機來拍攝、錄製影像的個人或企業來說非常方便，不再侷限在從手機上傳這個單一途徑。目前還不知道這些功能會何時上線，其中也沒有提及在瀏覽器網頁版中是否繼續支援 Stories 的建立，有鑑於 Instagram 長期以來以智慧型手機為主要發展平台，該公司隨時放棄這項功能的繼續開發、測試也是很有可能的事情。
