在IBM Think 2018，IBM展示全球最細的電腦。尺寸比鹽粒更細，為1毫米x 1毫米，製造成本不到10美分。該微型電腦配備數十萬的電晶體的處理器、SRAM靜態隨機存取記憶體，及用於供電的光電池、LED與光感測器、及與外界通訊的通訊單元。

電腦比鹽粒還要小

 

據IBM稱該電腦性能與1990年的x86晶片的性能一樣，剛好有足夠的運算，運行最初代遊戲Doom毀滅戰士。IBM這電腦主要用途在於供應鏈管理和區塊鏈，用作應用的數據源，包括追蹤用戶發貨、預防偷竊，也可以用在一些人工智能AI方面的操作。這款微型電腦的正式發佈時間未定，目前還處在原型階段。
