今時今日，以月費方式使用網上服務十分普遍，Office 365、Spotify 及 Adobe Creative Cloud 就是其中的例子。有開發者發現，Google 似乎有意為 Google Play 加入月費服務計劃。

有開發者研究過最新版本 Google Play 的 APK 檔，發現內裡的程式碼出現了名為「Play Pass」的新功能。顧名思義，這是一個 Google Play 通行證。開發者們相信，Google 有意為 Google Play 加入月費服務計劃。只要用家付出若干費用，就能無限下載指定的收費項目。

不過，Google 並未證實有關計劃，所以 Play Pass 的運作以及有何程式將納入計劃內仍是個謎。現時微軟、Adobe 及蘋果等都有推出月費服務計劃，所以 Google 推出同類計劃並不令人感到意外。而且，月費服務計劃能為 Google 帶來持續而穩定的收入，何樂而不為呢？
