不過集資之後，萬能冰箱 Coolest Cooler 變成集資災難，不止出貨無期，就算收到貨件的也發現貨不對辦，更甚的是，在 2019 年 12 月，Coolest Cooler 製造商 Coolest 的 CEO Ryan Grepper 宣佈公司倒閉，更將責任抵賴美中貿易戰，直指美國向中國貨品收 25% 關稅令他們無法營運。
Coolest 曾在 2018 年 3 月指，60000 張 Coolest Cooler 訂單已經送出三分二，換言之可能有最多 20000 張訂單被走數無法出貨。有被走數的出資人在 Twitter 感嘆自己在 5 年前出資的東西今天終於「化灰」。

Coolest 在 2017 年曾與俄勒岡州司法部達成協議，要向每張被走數的 Coolest Cooler 訂單賠償 US$20，即使 Coolest 倒閉，但直至 2020 年之前 Coolest 仍然要向消費者賠償。
