Bill Gates ：如果不是因為它，全世界人都會用 Windows Mobile

Windows 作業系統至今依然是全球最重要的電腦作業系統，但衍生的 Windows Mobile 和後來的 Windows Phone 卻在 Android 和 iOS 面對輸得一敗塗地。

Bill Gates 最近在《紐約時報》舉辦的 DealBook 大會之中感嘆微軟在手機市場的失敗，但他似乎要算舊帳，直指美國司法部在 1998 年發起反壟斷調查對微軟在手機市場有深遠的打擊，如果沒有反壟斷調查，微軟可以更集中創作手機的操作系統，到時大家不會使用 Android，而是 Windows Mobile。Bill Gates 更直言微軟差點做到了，但被其他事情分心，而這種分心最終導致事情被搞砸了。

微軟最終因為 Windows Phone 手機銷量不振，退出 Windows Phone 系統開發，轉戰多平台市場，更在 2019 年 10 月初發佈搭載 Android 系統的 Surface Duo。

也許 Bill Gates 的言論只是在手機市場失敗的感言，但背後其實是為一眾科技龍頭被美國政府進行反壟斷調查抱打不平，近年美國和歐盟針對 Facebook、Alphabet（Google）、蘋果和 Amazon 的調查。
